Coinbase Markets says roughly $16.6 billion in BTC and ETH options will expire in Q3 2026
Coinbase Markets said about $16.6 billion in Bitcoin and Ether options positions are set to expire in the third quarter of 2026. For Bitcoin, the notional value stands at about $14.73 billion, with 186,000 contracts in open interest, a put-to-call ratio of 0.52, and a max pain point at $72,000. The largest concentration of bullish positioning is near the $70,000 strike, while sizable upside open interest also sits at $85,000 and $90,000, with additional distribution near $100,000. For Ether, the notional value is about $1.92 billion, with 756,100 contracts in open interest, a put-to-call ratio of 0.57, and a max pain point at $2,200. Coinbase Markets said the largest call concentration remains at $30,000, representing about 43,000 contracts. Across both markets, call open interest exceeds put open interest, and positions expiring in the third quarter are tilted toward higher strike prices.
